I'm an associate professor of Mathematics at University of Oregon. I usually study PDE and geometric analysis. I've had an interest in Bitcoin since 2011, and wrote a book about the game theory in 2023. I've taught courses about Bitcoin in the Clark Honors College in 2022 and 2024. I'm setting up this blog in late 2024 in preparation the fourth round of craziness we're probably going to see.

My goal is to explain the fundamental math and economics underlying Bitcoin, not the animal spirits, but forces which keep it together or threaten to derail it.
